ooVoo Video Software Review
Price: Free Trial Download
The Good: This multi-featured online communications software allows users to participate in video chat that supports up to 12 people at a time. Unlike some of the other VoIP products available, those with this service do not have to convince others to download any software. Instead, they can send out customized ‘call me’ buttons via email, blogs, websites, or social networks and instantly receive calls from others. The video chat sessions can then be recorded and uploaded to YouTube or embedded into many online locations.
The Not So Good: Mac users are not able to take full advantage of all the features ooVoo has to offer. The company has recently opened up a video chat platform for iPhones, but the service is geared more towards the Windows OS. Customers of the free service also experience limitations, as they can only hold video chats with a maximum of 6 people and the quality of the calls can lag at times.. There are even some limitation for paid users, as calling mobile phones through ooVoo can only be done to the US, Canada, China, and Hong Kong. When calling landlines, Germany and Israel can also be reached.
The Verdict: ooVoo offers many features that users can enjoy and find convenient. Those looking to call mobile phones and landlines in areas this service neglects have no option but to go with another service provider. The free service is quite useful, even with its limitations on features, and the paid version is quite affordable due to the many packages available. Besides the free service there is the Monthly Plus Plan, Monthly Pro Plan, and a couple of pay-as-you-go options available. Many users stand to benefit by checking out ooVoo . It can serve as the perfect business solution for many small companies.
